Merik Music Closed as of 01/25/2021
It is with a heavy heart, and memories that will last both DJ Merik (Chad) and I a lifetime, we announce that Merik Music is closing its doors as of today, January 25th, 2021. This is not a decision that was arrived at easily by any means, and we’ve agonized over sharing this news.
Chad has survived 8 Melanomas and multiple other types of skin cancer. After taking every precaution possible to protect himself (wearing sun protective clothing when outdoors for ceremonies, applying sunscreen 365 days a year, and limiting our wedding receptions to indoor venues only) everything he’s done to mitigate the risk simply hasn’t been enough. The risk of another life-threatening skin cancer is still entirely too high, and unfortunately Chad is scheduled for multiple surgeries in the coming months to remove more cancer.
I want to assure the 3 couples, who have already booked their 2021 Weddings with Merik Music, that our decision to close Merik Music does not affect your weddings at all. Chad and I have every intention of honoring our commitment of providing services for your upcoming special days. We just won’t be booking any other weddings or events from today forward. Chad and I will miss so many things about being at weddings and events. We’ve shared some of the very best memories with some of the most amazing people throughout the years. Thank you for letting us be a small part of such an incredibly important day for you, your family, and friends. Chad will celebrate his 26th year as a Professional DJ at the end of 2021, and I’ve helped plan and provided Day-Of Coordination for over 300 beautiful weddings in the 7 years that I’ve worked alongside Chad.
I have always believed that Professional DJing is truly an art. DJ Merik, in my opinion and without a doubt, is an exceptional artist. It has been one of the greatest privileges of my life to work side by side with my husband and watch the joy he created on the dance floor year after year.
We wish you all a lifetime full of genuine laughter, so many exciting adventures that you simply lose count, true happiness, and forever love. ALWAYS.
